Level 1 vs Level 2
Level 1 uses a regular 120V outlet and adds 3 to 5 miles of range per hour. Level 2 uses a 240V circuit and adds 25 to 45 miles per hour. Almost every EV owner ends up wanting Level 2.
Hardwired charger or NEMA 14-50 outlet?
A NEMA 14-50 outlet lets you plug in a mobile connector and is easy to swap later. A hardwired unit like the Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex or Wallbox supports higher amperage (up to 48A) and looks cleaner. Both need a dedicated circuit and a permit.
Will my panel handle it?
A 200 amp panel with free space usually can. A 100 amp panel, or one already loaded with electric heat, a range and a dryer, often cannot. Options are a load-management device, a sub panel, or a 200 amp panel upgrade.
What it costs
The biggest variables are the distance from the panel to the parking spot and whether the run goes through finished walls or outdoors. Detached garages need an underground feed. We quote a flat price from photos or a quick site visit.

Several NC utilities offer charger rebates or off-peak charging rates. A permitted, professional install is usually required to qualify, and we provide the documentation.
